Meet Your Celebrant
Kathleen will support you through your special celebration
Creating spaces for people to celebrate moments has always been a big part of my life. From growing up in a big family, to my adult friendships, my work and hobbies.
I have been in theatre for most of my life and love being creative and getting to perform. I have performed, directed and worked behind the scenes (including on committees) in local theatre for 10 years and studied a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in creative writing and theatre. Writing, reading, performing and generally bringing people together through artistic expression are all things I am passionate about, and what a better artistic expression and way of bringing people together than through a ceremony of love?
By weekday I am a private support worker, working with individuals with disabilities in their homes and in the community. I am very passionate about this work and the importance of supporting all people in finding space for themselves in their communities, expanding their quality of life and feelings of belonging and connection. I have been working in the care industry for my whole working career, and specifically in the disability sector for over 8 years.
By weekend days I count myself lucky to be able to assist individuals, couples, families and loved ones in creating moments to celebrate milestones centred around love.
My background in creative spaces and work with various people from so many walks of life all feed into my work as a celebrant, helping me appreciate the memorable moments in life and create special ceremonies that centre around you and your own individual story. This is all achieved through a personalised approach, where I take the time to talk with you, hear your story, what you want in a celebrant and ceremony and open communication in the lead up to your special day.
Celebrating people’s individuality and love, in general, are what I want to dedicate my life to. I look forward to helping you create a ceremony as special as you are.
